I maybe a rotter on an obscure forum with 80k posts but I've spent years deliberately learning how to read rooms, spot opportunities, and build real connections IRL. It's a skill like any other I know my way around navigating social situations
to make connections that are useful to me.
Over the years I've collected mentors who have taught me a lot of stuff and people in positions in power who have opened doors for me, high level professionals who now reply to my DMs in < 2 hours,a lot of friends are in various sectors who are doing very well in life. I don't meet these people everyday but I do know that I count on them and they can on me.
Being from a good uni helps for sure but it was all intentional networking. A little bit of smooth talking, adding value, and nurturing those ties that's all it took. If you want access to better circles, start treating relationships like the high leverage asset they are.
