in march 2025 I underwent the procedure for eye color changing surgery which took my eye color from fully brown T50 eyes to what they are today(as you can see in my pfp)

it cost an arm and a leg, but it was worth it and i don't have any regrets. if i could go back and do it all over again i would

so, i'm willing to answer any questions anybody has about me or regarding this procedure
you can just reply to this thread/DM me

Also let me know if you guys are interested in seeing a high effort thread where i go into full detail about this surgery including cost, before and after, which surgeon i went to, what things u should know etc. I could make that but idk if anyone is even interested + i dont really have the time rn

well ive heard that the little censore of the eye is responsible for mood changes, hormonal changes and wtv else so is it true? feel any changes in ur mood, hormones or anything else?

any sides?
Tbh no i have not experienced that many side effects surprisingly

this is supposed to be a low risk procedure that only affects the melanin within your cornea, it's not invasive at all
the most side effects i have experienced from it was some slight photosensitivity during the phase where it took my eyes time to adjust but that soon faded away after a while and now i have no problem with light sensitivity anymore.

my eyes feel exactly the same as they did before surgery, except now theyre blue lol

my procedure was a bit nuanced in the sense that i didnt do it traditionally

i went overseas to a fairly established surgeon that has a lot of experience with this surgery, but i was one of the first patients that he performed it on using a non traditional method. the technique was improved and it gave me better results than it usually would using the normal methodology. this one involved a new kind of laser i think, but to sum it up mine was more expensive than a regular surgeon around 20-30k... yeah i know its a huge amount for an eye surgery lol

why u chosing surgery over js the medication that lightens your eye?

how did other people react to your surgery?
i had already told my parents abt it beforehand, they were shocked and tried to get me to not do the surgery however once i had already made up my mind there was no stopping me so they just kind of accepted it i guess

just my parents and thats it

do you tell anyone new you meet that your current eye color is natural or not?
nope... never lol. i always keep it hidden simply because i think theres no need to disclose something like that. it would just give me a bad look in their eyes and would defeat the whole point of getting the surgery in the first place, thats why i never tell anyone

i'm not aware of anything that can actually do that, surgery is the only way sadly.

yeah it's a lot, i'm grateful to be able to afford this procedure and i dont regret it because i thought about it a lot beforehand, so its not something i look back on wishing i hadnt done it
i really like my new eye color it's way better than my old eyes

welp yea surgery is permanent plus u can choose the eye color while the eye drop only reduces melanin in ur iris and showing the color behind ur dark brown eyes

you cant really just "reduce" the melanin in your eyes with drops, that melanin is one of the most chemically stable structures in ur body
it would take more than drops to do that and it would also be pretty harmful for your eyes
this is why they use a special laser during eye color changing surgery to alter the amount of melanin in ur eyes, because thats the only kind of tool powerful and precise enough to do it

hi man. mirin your effort, that you actually did that and i need to talk to you. im seriously planning to do the same, but only one eye, via iris depigmentation, so i have a lot of questions. First, it was kerato, or what? Looks too bright for depigmentation and you mentioned surgeon

Second, you said you dont tell anybody except your parents, then what if you meet somebody who knew you before surgery? Like any friend or anybody? And what if somebody sees your childhood pictures? What would be your answer? Are you willing to lie to everybody all your life? Would you admit to your partner? And would you admit to your relatives like your cousins or aunts, for example?

Somebody recommended me to lie and say that my blue eye is a result of eye condition. What do you think? Believable for normal people? Damn, i just remembered that my aunt literally has brown and green natural heterochromia, would be easier to lie.

And dont you have a feeling of being fake? Like you will get complemented on your eyes next 30 years, and every time feeling that it is something artificial, not yours really?
