Why were suits seen as classy in the first place

if you want something really basic but decent quality i guess uniqlo is your best bet. it gets the job done and usually better than zara and h&m
carhartt is decent too ig
but obviously shopping second hand is always best
Im tryna get more less basic fits rn, and yeah I’ll look at Uniqlo ive only heard of there tees will look

i wont be responding to stupid questions though
Are we seeing a comeback of classic style in today's society with Old Money becoming popular?

Fashion is highly underrated, it makes an impression on how people perceive you in social settings. But respectfully, I doubt you have infinite knowledge on fashion.

I like classic style (clothing and fashion from 1900 to 1950 cause after 1960, imo fashion began to go downhill). It's truly timeless which is why 75-100 years later, the 'suit' isn't dead.

My personal style is this sort of clothing.

1749997534413
1749997555102

Timeless, elegant, and not flashy. Every strand of fabric here exists for a reason, there is no unnecessary cloth/fabric here (other than the tie, which is the only piece that serves as a centre-piece for aesthetic reasons). The trousers aren't too skinny or too wide. The trousers aren't too short or tall. The jackets are tailored to look masculine and enhance your masculine features. These jackets make your shoulder look boxy and wide, waist narrow, and the lapels make your chest look stronger. Wear a dark suit for formal events like black tie. And wear odd jackets, lighter coloured trousers during sporting events and vacations.

This is the clothing you wear not to impress and attract women in 2025, but for your own sake, for style's sake itself. If you're a true sartorial connoisseur, this is what you'd be wearing daily without caring what others think of you.

I love being a dandy myself. Endless compliments, endless looks, some think my dressing is costume-y, but I really don't care. The golden age of style is too perfect for me to let go off.

The well tailored suit is truly the most perfect garment in the entire history of fashion. No unnecessary fabric, the jacket and tall trousers make you look masculine without being exaggerated and making you looking cartoonish. Your silhouette us defined and a suit is usually made of fine cloth, which is why it's so classy in the first place.

A suit was a common staple in clothing in the past. It's just that the difference between the rich people's suits and poor people's suits was the fineness of the tailor's job and the quality of fabric used. The poor people used tailor their own garments in the past, cause off the rack clothing wasn't a thing.

Wearing a suit (a matching jacket and trouser) is formal. But if you wear that same jacket with a different coloured trouser, it is an informal look, yet still refined.

it always used to be a high status symbol becase only rich and high class people who could afford it wore them and because they look professional and minimal it also reinforced that image.
now its mostly used as uniform for jobs and formal events because it keeps that neat professional look but most people naturally gravitated towards more practical items, thats why most people only wear jeans and t shirts now

to put it simply no
old money = white boy wearing a shitty button up from zara. a lot of the time it looks like cosplay and in a bad way. and personally its not interesting to me at all and i associate it with people who are insufferable to be around lol

i like researching 2000s alternative subcultures and take styling inspo from anime too
i like some smarter items but it has to have an interesting cut to it, and i like androgynous proportions a lot
it has to look slightly odd for me to like it

sometimes i check grailed just because why not and the prices are almost comical. for the most part hedi dior and slp is really cheap here, even the made in japan stuff. alternative japanese brands like if six was nine too, i own a lot and most of it i got for like 30 euros
at this point just try shop on mercari through buyee, the shipping is really expensive but its probably worth it

recommend me some nice leather jackets, actual good looking ones pls thx.
99% of the time just go to a vintage store and pick up a used one, then clean and moisturize it
you wont find a good leather jacket thats new for under 500, and real leather ages beautifully compared to the plastic bs. never buy fake leather
the best one i own is from lgb, i really like older dolce&gabbana, dior and saint laurent too
look for stuff thats made in italy or japan, they often make the best leather items

  • Love it

What do you like to wear in summer? ig ur in netherlands but summer here its too hot some days to wear anything other than a t shirt and shorts, hard to style that.

mercari isnt availabe in europe so you have to use a proxy service, you shop on japanese mercari through another website and they place orders for you, they ship it to their warehouse and then they ship it to you by air

skinny jeans leather jacket boots 90% of the time. i barely go outside and its usually not that hot here, but ive been looking into cropped pants with platforms recently, i like the look of that

im completely fine with a bunch of irrelevant retards makign fun of my hair on the internet honestly, especially because it comes from a place of misunderstanding of alternative subcultures and lack of knowledge
my rep ratio is better than his because my posts are actually good and i dont have to rely on making fun of someone to get reps, thats really tryhard
