In my first two years. Us CS niggas and EE majors shared the same brutal math classes and that's when I noticed EE and electronics niggas always suffered more than us. we CS students could Google errors, spam Stack Overflow or just feed the problem to ChatGPT and finish assignments from bed while EE students were in labs at 8 a.m. soldering circuits, chasing parasitic capacitance, and praying their MOSFETs didn’t explode.
My entire final year CS thesis and project. Completed in 2 weeks sprint. My EE friends started their hardware projects six months earlier and were still in the lab at 4 a.m. during finals week trying to meet timing closure on their FPGAs or get a drone to not crash on takeoff while us CS niggas were just fooling around but the part that made them seethe. I've overhead rants at the canteen and at the mess is that median/ average starting salary and CTC for CS graduates is apparently like 1.8-2.2x that of EE graduates despite us putting fraction of the effort
But I respect them electrical engineering . Many of their subjects are legitimately harder, demands real understanding and can’t be faked with an LLM. When the next layoff wave hits the software guys with their fat pay checks are always the ones who get chopped first while the people who can design power electronics or embedded systems keep their jobs. Respect where it’s due you niggas are built different.
