Calc 2 and 3 are objectively hard but thry are easier for people who can visualize things. It can be hard for people to visualize vectors and line integrals, spherical coordinates but it also depends on your professor. My professor was anal about differential equations and only gave very tough problems in tests and I didn't score well but did better than my peers so I still got a B. You have relative grading in your course right?

All these things are useless btw. They only used in very specific engineering applications.

Half thr math courses that my school mandated for a CS degree have 0 application in the real world tbh. Only fringe cases and very specific problems. I learnt entire discrete mathematics for an entire semester only for 4 questions that appeared in my Artificial Intelligence paper. And discrete was a prerequisite for taking up AI related courses.

82 in calculus which was enough for an A-
last year I took an advanced physics class at my HS campus getting a 70 was enough to get a B on the test after

The average score for the final exam was like a 40% before the curve:forcedsmile:

what did u get when you took calc 3?
I always got As in math even if only math lol
its to be expected though I'm a math major and did (some) competitive math in HS

Depends on the class
I once took a class that was so curved that I guessed every answer (4 answer mcq) and my score was around the average for the test lol
Was just one class though. Also it was senior year so me and most people didn't give a fuck. Physics too yeah

Im suprised as to the amount of users here who take advanced math courses its definitely more than the average populace

Autism maybe?

STEM majors generally require you to take advanced math courses.

How useful is discrete math for job prospects? I took a initial discrete math which was compulsory and went over basics, but further discrete math isn't required which goes into more details on cryptography and graph theory.

The alternative is a web development course, but in following year there's already a web development course so I'd be going over the same concepts multiple times. But it would improve projects for an internship and I'm not very interested in investing a lot of time into math that isn't going to benefit me.

What do you think?
