i just got off braces and on a retainer

so iv had braces for about an year now and they were removed and a wired retainer was put on the back of my teeth and when i asked my dentist for a palatte expander she said my face was the long type and it wouldnt work what are some treatments relating to dental work that can improve my jaw that i can ask for ?

theres not much, you could get orthognathic surgery such as bimaxs but whats wrong with your jaw, lack of zygo projection? narrow lower third? or recessed
