I just got tretinoin 0.05 for the first time, Ik i shoulda started with 0.025 but the doc prescribed me with the 0.05 so it is what it is.

Can you guys lmk what things I should avoid to use on my face, and what my overall skincare routine should be?

0.05 is fine to start you'll just have a rougher adjustment period. Use it every other night for the first 2 or 3 weeks then move to nightly once your skin tolerates it. Apply on dry skin 20 min after washing, pea sized amount for your whole face. Moisturizer on top after. Avoid any other actives while you're adjusting, no vitamin c serums, no aha or bha, no benzoyl peroxide for the first month. Spf in the morning every day non negotiable. If the peeling gets bad buffer it by putting moisturizer on first then tret on top.
If this was helpful mark it as solution ☑ then if you have any
questions or want personalized advice in DMs feel free. ( not the thumb )

Im supposed to use a cleanser when wahsing my face right? I heard somewhere to not use it when using Tret but idk

2 nights a week for the first 2-3 weeks, not every other night like pinterest said. as pinterest said, use pea-sized amount.
You also have a sandwich method:
Moisturizer first, let it dry for 10 minutes, apply tret and apply another layer of moisturizer.
You can also DM me or mark as solution but I feel like pinterest's advice is a bit more detailed so you should rather put him as solution BUT NOT every other night.

if you give everyone this advice then dis forum is gonna die out bro don't endorse ai usage because it will just cause the OP to stop posting at some point and just rely on AI

Use a gentle cleanser yeah, just not anything with actives in it like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Cetaphil or cerave hydrating cleanser, something basic that won't strip your skin on top of what the tret is already doing.
If I've helped I'd appreciate if u could mark as a solution ( ☑ not the thumb ) ❤️, doesnt close the thread btw

Keep it, ghk-cu actually helps with the tret adjustment since it boosts collagen and wound healing. Just use it in the morning and tret at night so they're separated.

yes but bro he's a first-time user. when ur face is raw from 0.05% tret, almost everything with active pH levels or heavy carrier ingredients can sting like crazy
It will depend whats in his topical but it will help with all of it

Its literally true, its the best advice i can give because its accurate lmao
yea prolly, I just wanted to hear what ppl would say
(y)
For do's and dont's with skincare (or skincare in general), gemini is far superior to the bullshit you get here

try to keep it simple dont add too much not needed
so basically, use tret and moisturizer at night, then ghkcu, moisturizer, and sunscreen in the morning? and days where im not using tret, just use moisturizer at night?

And so should it be every other night or give it a few days break in between?
Every other night for the first 2 3 weeks then move to every night once your skin stops flaking and getting irritated. If you're still peeling bad after 3 weeks stay every other night longer until it calms down. and ofc listen to ur body

avoid using any type of salicylic acid or even any type of acid on your face "i did that and got chemical burns from the sun" id recommend using the la roche-posay lipikar AP+Max triple repair moisturizing cream instead of the generic bullshit brands like CeraVe.
