I'll see what looks to be small gnats in my vision around the edges, and less frequently, movements like shadow people you see when you're sleep-deprived. However, I am not sleep deprived, and haven't been. I also have mild visual snow, and outside in the day I'll frequently see floaters and blue sky faires, but I've had those things for a long time, these mild hallucinations are new. Any idea why this would be? I am autistic, if that means anything.

Gnat is kind of a bad way to describe it, it seems like a gnat in peripheral/out of focus, but for the brief moment I actually look at it, its a tiny dark moving spot faintly surrounded by light, like it's burnt a hole into my vision that quickly fades out. That's how I know it's not real. Shadow-people is self-explanatory.

The "gnat" visually weaves back and forth or moves in an arc. Never for more than a second.

Why did you do that?

I'll see what looks to be small gnats in my vision around the edges, and less frequently, movements like shadow people you see when you're sleep-deprived.
Are the shadow people in the room with us, right now?

I am not delusional, shadow-people is a common phenomenon with sleep-deprivation. I recognize these are purely visual phenomena and have no real-world presence.

And what do they want, do they talk to you?

They don't, it's purely visual. Just shadow entities in my peripheral vision and gnat-like dots. I got the shadow stuff beofre when I was sleep deprived but the gnats are new.

I get audiotory hallucination but it's mostly just hearing sound within noise (in the random sense) like vacuum cleaning, constant drones, rattling, etc. I'll hear unintelligable talking, but I think that's also a semi-normal phenomenon

Do you sincerely, honestly think I'm mentally ill in some capacity because of this? Or is it just a joke because it's unusual? Please don't give a snarky answer I cannot infer things like this I am autistic.
You know there are certain techniques to make these hallucinations stronger and the voices louder - various yoga practices, where you listen to your inner sounds or focus on your visions.
A sensory deprivation tank would probably be the fastest way - you just float there, in absolute silence, darkness, at a neutral temperature and the visions will start to intensify since your brain doesn't receive the normal input from your senses anymore.

I've always wanted to try something like that. When I lay in bed I always focus on my closed eye visuals and make morphing shapes, but there's never any sounds.

Actually I do get the exploding head thing but that's so sporadic I can go months without getting it and then get it 3 nights in a row out of nowhere. Intense anxietyfuel for some reason, I normally am not anxious at all.

you got schizophrenia or your third eye is awakening. Use optimal eft to keep the voices at bay.

It was definitely my sleep schedule, I've gotten it a lot less now that I'm regularly getting 8-10 hours of sleep, I graduated so I've just been working consistently.

Well some parts. In either case being well-rested decreases the severity.

i find when my head tilted downwards i also feel some sort of depressed

I remember you mentioning you have bad airways. sometimes when you don't get a proper amount of oxygen it causes your brain to do weird things like hallucinate.
