How much was your operating cost for the first six months -> Can't really say since I wasn't that consistent with my work util 3-5 months passed

How did you select ur niche? Everyone was doing the same in the mentorship, so I went with it
Who is ur target audience? -> 35-60 year olds
Do you create it own ads or is that done for u? -> All normal ads, no UGC / custom. These are simple images that have existed for years.

My only question is How do I start? I'm very interested. Here is why:

It seems like you're in the MMO/ecom business, I got one of my irl college friend who also got rich from it (he does dropshipping - POD)

Back then, we were both freshmen and he did invite me to explore the MMO scene. He was already very mature back then and was constantly looking for ways to make money, while I was still a typical rotter who doesn't even have a concept of career and working. Of course he got bored of me and left me alone while he continued reading and networking with MMO people. 2 years later he started his own company; he said that they lost around 30k$ in the next 6 months, but then turned it around. In the next year, his company reached 1m$ in revenue.

It's still revenue and not profit, but 1m$ is enough to retire where I live (southeast asia), and he wasn't even graduated. Meanwhile, now I'm still a bum 1,5 years after graduating. I will never forget the opportunity of a lifetime I fumbled.
I reached out for him last year, he was nice and humble enough to meet me after all those years not interacting. He did understand why I was a piece of shit and tell me to start my life now, like every other broke, directionless, useless-degree recent grad. We're still friend on fb.

But I was, and still dying inside - I want to ask him to take me under his wing, into his business and save my life. But I'm too shameful to appearing such desperate; without any achievements on my back to convince him that I've changed and determined to work hard and improve. I mean I can't even use English that well as you can see. Why should he give me a chance?

How do I start?

I believe relentless reading will just waste my time, because the trick in this field is finding the business/tech loophole before others and abuse it to print until it's dry and fixed. So 99% of the thing I read will just be useless outdated knowledge.
So the only practical way is to pay for a course, to get access to a mentor and exclusive knowledges. My friend did this. But then how do I know he's legit. I cannot afford to be scammed money and time.
but the most important question...

Can a bum like me do it, if I put my entire life and heart in? Or do I have to just suck it up and go start my corporate wageslave life at the bottom tier somewhere and wait for AI and the new generations to kick my ass at 30.

- I will still ask my friend, but can you answer my question of finding a legit quality mentor? Are there any red flags I should be aware? I could work with both global and local, mmo/ecom is a thing here.
- Do I need to have a risk management strategy? I've burned before, I know what total ruin is like and how far it would set you back time-wise. If I need to avoid all in, what do you feel like is the minimum amount of capital at the start and which % of them should I invest?

since you said ecom would that mean you get a bunch of shirts with designs pre made cheap from china or something and sell it to a bunch of rich 1st world country people? or does ecom encompass affiliate. Also I've always heard clothing makes dog because of the shipping. is this because you sell locally avoiding the costs or do you still ship for somewhere like china? if so how much does it cost, if not at least give me an idea
