I’ll start by saying I’m hoping on accutane soon so if that’s the answer then lmk. Also, usually my skin isn’t this bad (finals week has me stressed and busy). Anyways, pictured below is my current condition about 30 hours post shave only against the grain. There’s two main issues. I get pimples but only where I shave and no where else on my face, so I’m assuming it’s related. Also I get razor burn under my mandibular angle. My current routine is that I shave in the shower under warm water but with no shaving cream or anything, where I either go with the grain or go with then against the grain if I want no stubble and for the shave to last longer. I make sure to follow the shaving guide direction guide. Right after I apply cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for about 5 mins then wash it off under warm water (sometimes I do this a few times). Once my skins fully dry, I sometimes apply cetaphil moisturizer if i only shaved with the grain but always when I go with and against. I’ve tried some minor different things but nothing is working. So if anyone has advice on anything (razors, technique, products, routine, etc…) that would be much appreciated because I have to shave pretty much everyday. Thank you

need to use shaving cream bro, thats irritation due to friction on your hair, good shaving cream would minimise that

Stop shaving with only warm water
Get A non-foaming shave gel or cream for sensitive skin

Also after like 6 shaves use a new clean sharp razor

foam less products help you see hair direction and reduce drag
Don’t go against the grain for now
Especially on ur neck as neck hair grows in swirls so going afainst often = ingrowns.
Don’t cleanse for 5 minutes post-shave
Long washing can overstrip your skin which leads to more inflammation.
Rinse gently and Apply a soothing product right away while the skin is damp

post shave only against the grain.
Issue #1. Solution; Don't shave against the grain if your skin can't handle it (it can't)
under warm water but with no shaving cream or anything,
Issue #2. Solution; Always use shaving cream or foam. I prefer foam but some people prefer cream.
Right after I apply cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for about 5 mins then wash it off under warm water (sometimes I do this a few times). Once my skins fully dry, I sometimes apply cetaphil moisturizer
Issue #3. Solution; Apply post shave balm, not skin cleanser. You should cleanse your skin before you shave, not after.

Sounds good. Got any suggestions for post shave products then?

A moisturiser with Niacinamide in it, aloe vera gel, simple cold water if you really don't want to spend money on other products and don't care about mediocrity

Never heard of shave powder. what does it do?
You mix a bit with water, apply it to your chin, wait and then you just wipe off the mixture with your facial hair already off. Its made specifically for sensitive skin prone to razor bumps and cuts.

You could try facial hair removal creams. I say this to avoid razors and such. Like Nair creams or something like that.

Might have to tap in to that
