I was around 13 years old, I remember reflecting on the way I and others perceive people.
I wondered why I seemed to automatically respect taller and/or attractive males more, and almost saw them as ‘cooler’ despite their words or attire. I remember thinking about how the “lower down” friend groups at school always seemed to be less physically attractive.
At one point I was in McDonalds after school with my friend group and some girls (uk boyos will know this used to be the motive); the girls started laughing at this guy who was unfortunate looking but didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. I think they justified it with something like “he’s just a weirdo”, I realised literally the only reason they saw him in a negative light was his appearance.
I started rearranging past scenarios in my head after that, how if you changed nothing about an individual but their face (same clothes, character, status…) the outcomes of interactions would be entirely different.
Myself and others would subconsciously create a narrative for someone before even hearing a syllable leave their mouth, or see a muscle move. This was something everyone seemed to do, what we saw dominated our subconscious mind but it was so normal to everyone that people didn’t give it a thought.
Obviously this wasn’t a ground breaking discovery, however it went against everything I had been told growing up, and I noticed it on my own accord.
I really wish I looked more into it at the time, if I would’ve stumbled upon looksmaxing at the age of 13 I would be a giga chad by now (if I found this forum I would also have a mogger join date lol).
Do any of you guys have similar experiences? I would be very interested to hear them.
