I joined my high school’s annual male-only talent show. In addition to the talents part of the show, there’s mandatory male modeling. JFL! About 1 week before the talent show, there’s a “Best Eyes & Best Smile” vote, in which students vote on the contestants’ eye areas and mouth areas in mog-battling posters. Of the 12 pairs of eyes on the poster, mine has the lowest IPD, the lowest PFL, the highest-set eyebrows, and Asian monolids. My mouth area has crooked teeth and an underbite (class III malocclusion). Never began.

The whole event is a Chad circus. All contestants are men because it’s a mens’ talent show, and every contestant must have a female escort who walks with them to the stage and stuff like that. The men battle each other by showing off skills (and their looks and their heights), and their accompanying women are only there to look good. This is 2022.

As the shortest male on the stage, I’ll need some giga-tall shoe lifts in order to have any chance of placing higher than last place.
