Stronglifts is a shitass joke routine. If you’re doing it go ask your buff friend what he does instead and copy him. You’ll get nowhere strongliftscoping. There’s a reason people only post their numbers, never physiques in that subreddit😭

DYEL cope, 5x5 is ideal for large muscle groups like legs.
I wouldn't do 5x5 for biceps

it's a blatant ripoff of Rippetoe's Starting Strength, which is a great beginning strength training routine, which is meant to be run for 3-9 months. show me one of your buff friends who has a good physique after 3 months of lifting, and what are their numbers?

How strong lifts is marketed is that it’s supposed to be run for a year, and how’s a routine with even less volume and no rows somehow better? Power cleans are irrelevant for bodybuilding.

It is irrelevant how my friend looked like after 3 months of lifting because you wouldn’t look much better after 3 months of powercoping anyways,

it’s 3 months.

All I know is after 2 years bro splitting he looks very fucking good, his starting spot was bad, and after a few months of stronglifts strengthcoping,
I was left with a 155 lb bench for 5, with DYEL arms, no lats, barely any chest and some traps from the DL and pendley row (terrible row variation for people trying to look good rather than build their deadlift)

I have nothing against using fullbody low volume routines to teach people the basics, but you cannot rely on them to build your whole physique. You need curls, you need tricep isolation, shoulders isolation, some fucking pullups and chinups, along with volume.

It’s unfortunate these routines completely unsuitable for building physiques are shilled to noobs.

I will keep doing what i’m doing, you keep doing what you’re doing. I hope stronglifts, 5 by 5, powercoping works out better for you than it did for me and it does for most people foolish enough to fall for it.

It's nothing foolish. For large muscle groups 5x5 is ideal. Nothing wrong. All that matter is that you're getting stronger.
Also this thread was somewhat of a joke. My best squat is 105x5 which isn't strong but I did start off on like 45kgx5 and i've been doing 5x5 since so it's working so far.

What do you squat?

1 set mogs ur 5x5

1 set mogs ur 5x5
if you do one set of more than 25 it might just be autism. Something to do with doing something over and over again be autism?
idk
perhaps maybe

Ur burly legs are only gonna look good for other men congrats

I'm not prepared to defend Stronglifts or whatever they're doing, just Starting Strength as a strength routine.

Yeah, that's my point. The main criticism of SS is "look at this dude, he looks DYEL" or that the physique is unbalanced. But it's only meant to be run for 3-9 months, so why would you expect someone's physique to be any good after that long? And it's a strength routine. Rippetoe acknowledges that additional biceps work is going to be sneaked in. He doesn't program biceps in because it's not important to him, and it's not difficult to add in anyway.

1x5 mogs 5x5? how???

it is good to have strong tree trunk legs for mog other men
That fifth one should be till failure if u have one more then do more but till failure is better and quicker then 5x5

JFL at looksmaxxers doing sperged out fullbody low volume power coping routines brought to you by fatass jason blaha-esque powercopers instead of asking their local buff gymbro for their Neurotypical routines such as PPL, bro splits, arnold, potentially gaining a friend who can show you the ropes, and building a proper physique.

Of course that would require a minimum of socializing, something the autists here aren’t the brightest at, and you’d be doing what everyone else is doing who gets results. No unique “trailblazer smarter-than-the-rest” feeling from that.

You can either get the results you want, or be different.

Pick one

but if u fail on squats u die??
or bar falls onto safety pins and then u have to take off all plates and then load it up again and put plates back

I don’t even squat anymore, haven’t for like 3 months since I got on the bro split. I leg press, bulgarians, and leg extensions.

6 years for 50kgs is fucking brutal. I squatted 190 pounds before I stopped, 5x5 I was strengthcoping like you. Now i leg press 5 plates and a half for sets of 10.

And i’m no good looking fella. I’m out of shape by all standards, still working on physique.

The routine matters much less than your ability to stick with it; not change shit and program hop, and to get enough volume across your body for everything to grow. Yes, gains are slow. But they are consistent week after week. I add a rep or two on bench next week I’m happy. You don’t win trying to rush to a number, there’s no cheats

I was joking about 6 years too obviously lol. I'm still dyel as fuck but making progress on 5x5. I'm doing more than x2 what I started with.

what's your bench sets and reps?

what's your bench sets and reps?
I quit barbell flat bench at 155lb for 5 and started doing dumbells 3 months ago. At 55lbs per hand for 9 rn, i do 4 sets of that, then 4 sets of incline.

I quit barbell bench too because I stagnated completely. Right now my best db bench is 82.67lbs per hand for 5. Trying to get that number to 8 and then I move up, but I started slacking so now i'm back to 77.16 dumbbells x 6-8.

How long have you been at it?

Do you do pullups/chinups for lats?
I mainly do lat pulldown, but I plan on moving to pullups soon.
What's your weight and height btw?
