I think incisor chewing and mewing is moving my maxilla up and forward tbh

It’s widening the distance between my upper and lower jaw, creating an overjet. I’ve had this happen before and I think the mandible eventually catches up.

I’ll keep going for a bit and maybe show some before after. I have an x Ray from a few months back so at least I have a comparison on a BONE level

Same, my nose also became less bulbous, cheekbones a bit higher after i started incisor chewing

How long have u been doing this? Would clenching incisors be better since force is more uniform and you dont need to move jaw up and down?

@KrissKross how many hours a day u chew with incisors? Do u hard mew or chin tuck and what gum u chewing? Chur

There's a removable expander for the lower jaw. From what I understand, it's designed to force you to sort of jut your jaw out. Maybe you can speed up your progress by mimicking what the device does.
 
mandible grows faster than maxilla, so i wouldnt expect it to take too long.

Incisor chewing using chisel

Was doing it everyday. Gave myself an overbite. @retard said I exhausted the muscle in my jaw and if I rested it, it would heal. He was right. Been off chewing for the last 5 days probably. Will start a new routine of chewing once every three days for 20-30 mins. This is better than everyday I believe as it gives the muscle time to repair, just the same as in gymcelling.

One thing I never understood is, and I'm pretty sure I'm wrong...But wouldn't chewing with the incisors cause the maxilla to rotate BACKWARDS (to become more recessed looking), and chewing from the back would be what makes it rotate forwards?

canine chewing likely causes maxillary upswing so no, it doesn't do what you said.

I had a crappy theory thread on this a while ago


@retard said that one couldn't apply upward force to alveolar bone, but i disagree, as I can. Perhaps arm-ing and canine chewing could make a difference over time? I haven't tried

Interesting, so basically just try to brace your tongue against the part where the palate curves up steeply and use that to press?
 
I kinda got an overjet from chewing, but if I stop for a week it goes away. I don't believe it is due to maxilla moving forward, instead I think its due to the force that if you chew with an even slight overbite gum will push your teeth forward.

I hope it is though, would be nice lifefuel.

why would it? Main force comes from your lower jaw slapping against your upper jaw upwards when closing the mouth and putting teeth into gum, you can't really really with an upper jaw down, as your lower jaw is the only active part.

I don't keep my teeth touching though, just close. I swallow with a lot of force though.

yes doesnt matter my teeth dont touch either due to overbite i meant teeth coming closer towards eachother slamming into gum
