Oh my god, American, American... u American? U sound 100% American. I wouldn't call them self esteem issues but i'd say those "shittier countries" I mentioned have twice the ego we do.
This isn't just a big essay I wrote for the US thoughts man, i've been an expat almost my whole life amongst China, Europe, Brazil and they always either:
1. Zero knowledge (or care) about Mexico for simply being a trash disposal as of 2021 which much like u said, will never regain the power it had a century ago (u know, if it even really did in the first place considering all this bad luck), and this is assuming they even care in the first place.
2. A have a minor grudge against Mexico for some reason, like an internal hidden rage they keep against the country for sort of sullying the perception that the rest of the world has on Latin America.
U sure as hell are more aware about my countries history than I am, but once again, u are putting it into American right's perspective like all Americans do w/ their own thing. Although I don't agree w/ Jews either jfl if u think that's what this is.

U put some focus on Diaz here... let me give u an example.
In the 19th century, Díaz managed to impose a punch of power-type shit w/ stability and order. With this, for the first time too, an appreciable level of economic growth was done, which gave rise to the existence of modern middle classes and industrial workers in the country.
However, economic model was NEOCOLONIAL, based on some big agricultural places owned by some families and on the trains, mines and oil businesses of foreign investors linked to the main polititians of the country's.
Sadly this economic growth did not lead to parallel development; in fact it was the complete fucking opposite.
To make matters worse, the political system did not show any modernization: the Constitution was ignored; the division of powers gave way to an absolute domain of the Executive power; a huge centralization of power ended any form of federalism; Freedom of the press disappeared, as did electoral contests, since political stability became the same with continuity, causing relectionism, which ultimately led to the aging of the political apparatus and the rejection of a couple of generations of younger nigga applying for public positions.
Don't u see? Mexico's history was FLAWED from the start, who cares if they gave birth to cowbody culture.
U should all just either completely cut the country off forcing the more Native population of the country to just stop being poor (and more importantly, stop reproducing as fucked up as it sounds), pretty converting the country into it's own personal bubble until it gets better. Shit like railroads, mining of natural resources, and oil are the foundation of pretty much any major nation's economy in the 20th century tbh, he'd be and idiot not to focus on those aspect of the economy first.
Parallel development is similar to multitasking in way (like I'm doing now), you don't really get either task done as efficiently as when compared to what you could have when you just focused on one instead. And the boost to Mexico's economy via selling out national assets is like coffee or aderall, it really only helps when you use it to focus on one thing at a time.
That being said, parallel development wouldn't have led to the same rapid economic growth Mexico experienced during the Porfiriato, something Mexico was desperately lacking in at the time, and would've merely led to it comparatively straying even further behind the world economically.
And yeah, I like most people can easily see how this could largely be seen as a negative factor due to said growth not necessarily affecting specifically the poor outright especially when there's a lot of them, but as fucked up as it sounds when has helping the poor ever really helped a nation as a whole, especially when they're not even the majority of said nation?

What would federalism do more efficiently to help pull a nation back from the brink of collapse after already struggling its way through various other regime changes and conflicts, than a man with single goal in mind to help said nation, unhindered by the quibbles of those unequipped to help said struggling nation, and with the absolute power to actually bring the stability and change it so desperately needs?
Then again it might not even really matter, because what good does adhering to a constitution that isn't able to guarantee your rights or even prevent said rights from ever being taken away to begin with really do for you when they've already been trampled upon?
It's almost as if it too were flawed from the very beginning, and really only serves as no more than a mere piece of paper with empty words of hot air to fill in the awkward silence that comes from realizing that if all that separates you being free from not being free is a mere piece of paper, that no one even bothers to adhering to, then you were never really free to begin with either(, but only if you tell everyone that shhhh, you'll wake the goyim!).
6. Freedom of the press only serves a nation's, or really it's people's, interest only when it is, or rather when assuming it even was to begin with, honest and truthful.
