Is that it's so impersonal, in the past offtopic felt like a little community, you'd know everyone on a near personal level.
Everyone was constantly sharing things about their lives, everyone nowadays is so scared of a 'digital footprint' for no reason at all.
I guarantee you 99% of the people on here are not important enough to care about that stuff, just don't post your face alongside constant rape threats and you'll be fine.

It was really really nice, since it was online people would just trauma dump their entire lives, in-person it would take years to be close enough to someone for them to tell you that stuff.
