Fuck off
I work security, and it's split into two sections within the same site. I asked for more work on the visitor side (where I currently work), and the manager said there wasn't any, but that I could do a full time job on the other side

It sounded like he was offering me it and, due to the fact a couple of our staff have worked the odd shift over there, I assumed that was the case (same department, just on the other side of the site)

But no, apparently I need to do a proper interview for it. Yes, as an internal candidate, I'd probably have an advantage (though maybe not, as my manager on this side doesn't seem to give me any shifts when I ask)

Anyway, they can fuck off. If they offered it to me without an interview, perhaps I would take it for a few months. But I would have to get up at 6:15 every day anyway for the job. It is "post room", so just sorting/checking off post that comes in. They will show me the place on Tuesday apparently. But this has got me thinking about whether or not I actually want to stay in security, and I don't think so tbh. Or if I do, I want a patrol job. I want to do something outside/in nature or something, although it's hard to find jobs and idk what I'll do. But I can always go back to security if I wanted to. But rn I don't really wanna be stuck in a post room
