Fear mainly results from a lack of knowledge but sometimes fear is a good thing because it can keep you alive. For example, if you see a very physically large man you might be afraid of that person because you fear what they could do to you. But what if you knew that guy had a 0% chance of harming you, so it's not even a possibility, would you still fear that guy? You fear that guy because the assumed possibility of him hurting you is greater than 0%.

So you can apply that to anything, talking to people, fear of insects, etc., fear is largely just the lack of knowledge. You need to weigh where you should have fear and where you shouldn't, after acquiring knowledge.
