People relate ignoring someone drowning in a pool with being absent from politics/political discussion/not voting [which i don't]
The difference is when it comes to that person drowning, a direct action of yours can save the day/result in the most favorable outcome.
When it comes to politics, there are no personal solutions to systemic problems. You should live by those words.
Guess what would happen if you were a 1930s German and tried to stop the Nazis. You'd be killed.
"But what if it was the 1920s and you had an opportunity to stop it" This does not mirror the real world. We are all goys in the system, bricks in the wall.
There are no personal solutions to systemic problems, worry about your own life, your own kids, your own future. If a direct action of yours can result in something good do it, but 1 vote, selling your car and buying a bike, buying a vegan burger instead of a beef one, will do nothing.
