i want to do a y dna, mitochondrial and a regular dna test.
You can get your Y-DNA, mtDNA and autosomal results from one 23andMe test. Or you can try LivingDNA, you get deeper subclades but the ethnicity estimates will be wrong.

You’re welcome!

Some more info: do NOT test with MyHeritage or Ancestry, these do not provide Y-DNA nor mtDNA.

IF you want the deepest subclades, you can try FTDNA but that’s all they’re good for. I would stick to 23andMe or LivingDNA as they are way cheaper.

Each company has a different chip that they use to process your results. MyHeritage and Ancestry kits used to test for some Y-DNA, but they wouldn’t tell you your paternal haplogroup. You could, however, still find out by just running it through a third party website and then it would tell you yours. But they stopped doing this since 2026. It’s too bad, because one of my Iranic friends had gotten a test this year but I was unable to find out his Y-DNA. He’s Afghan.
