Europeans are a race/nationality in the same way that that south asians are a race/nationality.

Europeans are all descended from the same 3 main ancestral groups (to varying degrees) in the same way all south asians are descended from the same 3 main ancestral groups (in varying degrees).

Its not like being an american which is more of an ideology/way of life that anyone from any ethnic/genetic background can just embrace if they want.

1. None of these are a "race". The genetic distance between Italians (no prefix needed) and Latvians is SUBSTANTIALLY larger than the distance between the former and Azeris if we assume Azeris "aren't European". Which moves on to my next point.

2. Not only do Europeans NOT merely descend from 3 ancestral groups, but the proportions of descent of EACH cannot be casually be dismissed since that WILL affect where you cluster. Italians for example have NOTABLY less Western Hunter Gatherer ancestry than the English and notably less Steppe ancestry. Southern Italians also have detectable levels of Zagrosian and Natufian ancestries that just don't exist elsewhere in Europe. These aren't casual differences.

Also, what does "Europe" even entail? Usually, Armenians, Azeris and Turks are often excluded from the scope of "European" though they cannot and SHOULD NOT be separated from that concept. The borders of "Europe" are malleable and have excluded countries that are "known to be in Europe by necessity" depending on who imposes their arbitrary definitions of the term "Europe".

3. If this applies for "Europe" specifically and "Western Eurasia" in general, then homogenising South Asians is even more fucking absurd. There's more genetic diversity in Indian provinces alone than in the whole of Western Eurasia. That means 100s of kilometres of travel leads to more genetic distance between Yemenis and Latvians.

I completely agree. Retards here love to argue everything from ethnicity, race, to language to these lines in the sand called nation-states are a fixed, permanent reality. I can understand how some of these things are less fluid than others for example language but the rest is all bullshit. But many others are bullshit. Even the idea of 'european' as an explicit distinctive common identity (not geography) as we understand it today is barely 200 years old.

Nationalism was founded there and spread like wildfire after the French Revolution. It's inherently built on notions of exclusion and inclusion and it naturally excludes the ethnic. If you're an ethnic you really don't belong anywhere. I see lots of ethnics in the West who are proud of where they are originally from but neither they nor the people at "home" truly accept them.
