I'm trying to save as much as possible before buying a tiny house abroad. I'm not renting. I'm also waiting for my irish citizenship to be processed, so I can get my eu passport and move to french guiana or somewhere of the like

At least with your parents you have something to return to. Not to mention the obvious upside of not paying rent.

There’s nothing to expand on. You’re too young to realize that it’s not that easy and sometimes it’s not the smartest idea to move out. It’s not as cut and dry as you think it is.

But sometimes it’s not the best move. You save up money to get it sure but it’s not always the best move to leave. You could lose your job and suddenly you only have enough to cover two months rent. Rent in NYC can be north of like $3500 a month easily. The cheapest you’ll find for a studio is like $2000 in a bad area. Tell me why I should spend $2500 (average) for a shit apartment when I can live with parents in their multiple story house, have space for myself instead of just a room, and not have to cover rent or utilities? I guess if you live in the slums of Bradford where rent is like $1000 it can be manageable.
