Always as a kid, my father used to tell me this one moral folktale that I'd like to share with you all today.
[Shortened]
Once in the eternity of time, there lives a King that is obsessed with collecting and wearing rings.
Oftentimes, he'd link certain rings to certain things (often morality). As in connotations. One day, he thought of a ring that could change his emotions in an instant. Now he ordered his servant to find this ring for him.
"A ring that could make him delighted when he was down, and make him frown when he was delighted."
He gave around a 10 day notice to the servant and also conducted a festival in the Castle on that day, for the celebration of the discovery of this amazing ring.
Now, the servant searches in all areas of the country, and on the last day (Day 10), he went to the least bought ring-maker of the state and asks him if he knows such a ring.
The ring is given to him by the servant and the servant rushes to the Festival asap.
As he enters upon the door, he sees everyone lighten up, start drinking juices and eating and he hands over the ring to the King.
The King reads it and is saddened instantly.
The ring said,
"This too shall pass".
