That sounds very normal but my parents are extremely narcissistic and controlling so they don’t let me do shit, it’s been really fucking up my university experience as I’m not even held back by looks given I’m a 6’4 MTN.

They video call me everyday at 11pm to check if I’m at home or not, and yes they ask to see my room to ensure I’m in there and all alone. It’s next level shit and honestly it’s really depressing for me as I can’t participate much with my friends and have to decline them when they ask me to go to parties and shit.

I have had enough, I will call them in the next 15 minutes and tell them about my plans tommorow and they’ll just have to deal with it.

Btw my grades are pretty good, so it’s not like I’m a total dumbass hence they want me to stay at home and study, I consistently had a 4.0 throughout high school and I have a 4.0 right now in university and was on the deans list consistently every semester. They’re just very anti partying and think I’m going to become some drug addict if they let me go to a club. They’re also hyper religious. I hate it, but I will change it. I must also get a job for financial independence.

its okay for your mom to worry about you, but at some point you gotta go out there in the world and do what you have to do
