If you possessed a weak sould which was dompanergic and addicted to earth

It could not ascend to a higher place, and if completely rotten, perhaps you'll be pulled into the second

You should check out this post. I have a different approach than most. But as a person who grew up in a Christian household, my years of life leads me to this perspective more than others. The subject is complex and i think a lot of people really miss that point.
