Imperial Japan was not perfect and yes they did commit war crimes, but the truth is that previous Asian regimes were far more brutal than Imperial Japan.
Koreans still hold grievances over Japanese colonialism, when in reality Japanese colonialism in Korea was much more benevolent than the Joseon dynasty. Most Koreans under the Joseon dynasty were serfs with no real human rights sort of like serfdom in Russia or Black slavery in the Americas.
The Mongols and Manchus killed more Chinese people per capita than the Japanese ever did, the CCP killed more Chinese people than Japan did in terms of numbers.
Imperial Japan laid the foundation for the development of modern East Asian economies in China and Korea as well as paved the way for the decline of the west and worldwide decolonization. The short term defeat of Japan brought about long term disaster for the Western powers.
Nips prevented ethniks from being completely overpowered and psychologically defeated by the whites, but at the same time prevented whites from receiving full retribution from ethniks over grievances that ethniks hold against whites.
A world without Japanese Imperialism would be a lot worse for ethniks to live in, all ethniks, especially gooks must respect Japan to varying extents.
Despite all the faults of the Nips, you have to admit that they deserve respect to a certain extent.
