What's even more interesting is that Vladivostok in particular used to be much more diverse, to the point that they even had their own distinct Chinatown (aka Millionka) and Koreatown. Unfortunately, Stalin's regime forced these groups to leave and thus these neighborhoods became deserted.

Idk about Sinosphere East Asia per say, but they definitely looked more similar to them, especially in the Russian Far North and East. Buryats, Mongols, Nivkhs, Nenets, Chukchis, etc. I wouldn't say the two regions were very culturally close; comparing a hunter-gatherer lifestyle with a farmer's, the two region's lifestyles are almost polar opposites. Furthermore Siberia was never really conquered or occupied by any East Asian civilisation; we could say the Mongols, but Mongolia is almost not considered part of East Asia + the Mongol Empire only went as far north as Lake Baikal.

Nonetheless, some of these Siberian groups were still subject to East Asian influence, but that was mainly a late 19th-century onward phenomenon. I might be wrong about this.
