I do agree with you, but having a degree doesn't hurt much, you're standing on something that many people don't, it gives you more opportunities.
Having a job via a degree and living at your parents house is actually very good (don't know much in England, but here in Romania, having a degree, finding a job as a junior dev is actually much better than a 600 euro salary (not even 600 tho), it varies around 1500-2000 euros.
Yeah there is a massive difference by country. Here in UK you will make the same £1700 working in the supermarket or as your first few years as a graduate. I’ve 5 years experience as mechanical engineer with a masters degree and only get £2700 a month.
By the time you “catch up” with a degree you are too old anyway for it to matter. Minimum wage all the way in UK. Clearly not in Romania.
