Hey guys, back with another high iq thread.
This time, I will be doing a deep dive into Cerebrolysin, a nootropic.

First of all, I want to precise that I am not a doctor. Any potential harm caused by the people viewing this thread were the only responsible for their harm.

For the people who will NOT read this thread, feel free to rep this thread and bump it.

Cerebrolysin is a standardized, ultrafiltrate of porcine brain proteins
a mix of small peptides and free amino acids intended to mimic
endogenous neurotrophic factors
. It’s given parenterally (IV or IM).
The manufacturer’s product monograph describes it as a
multimodal neuropeptide drug with rapid onset.

Cerebrolysin scaled

Claimed mechanism of action: mimics neurotrophic growth factors

(BDNF, NGF-like effects), modulates neuroinflammation, reduces apoptosis,
stabilizes blood–brain barrier, promotes neuroplasticity and synaptogenesis
in animal models. There’s preclinical evidence of increased BDNF and

reduced neuronal death after insults.

Source for the highinhibs :feelsokman: :
https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/neuroscience/articles/10.3389/fnins.2020.568813/full

There’s no strong, replicable RCT data showing robust cognitive enhancement
in healthy adults after Cerebrolysin courses. Old small volunteer studies
show acute EEG and short-term memory effects, but translating that
into sustained IQ-style gains or “super-learning” is unsupported.

So my theory is :
Cerebrolysin could enhance the cognitive and parietal
fonction because of it's cerebral repairing properties.

Neuroprotection & neurorestoration: multiple rodent models of ischemia,
TBI, and seizures show reduced infarct size, less neuronal death, and
improved behavioral outcomes after CBL; correlated with upregulation
of BDNF and other pro-survival signals. Mechanistically this looks
like trophic support + reduced excitotoxicity.

EEG / short-term memory effects in humans (early small study): old volunteer
studies showed dose-dependent EEG changes and some short-term memory improvement
under hyperventilation-induced ischemia modeling, hinting at acute CNS
electrophysiological effects. Not the same as proven long-term cognitive
enhancement in healthy people, but interesting

Conclusion : : This means cerebrolysin helps damaged neurons survive, repair, and make new connections.
I want to precise ht
That is why it could be great for IQMaxxing !

Here i will put multiple studies, showing brain "repair" after injury, trauma, etc.

This one is about traumatic brain injury :
https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3425/13/3/507

Dementia (Alzheimers and vascular dementia) :
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19848437/

Depression, anxiety blud, consciousness recovery:
https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/neurology/articles/10.3389/fneur.2019.00803/full

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9147297/

Sadly, a study about healthy people taking cerebrolysin :

Preclinical and small volunteer studies
suggest potential for short-term memory,
learning speed, and neuroplasticity enhancement.

it’s a mixture of peptides that mimics neurotrophic factors like BDNF and NGF,
which are literally the molecules responsible for brain
growth and plasticity.
In stroke and TBI patients,
Cerebrolysin has been shown to accelerate recovery
and improve functional outcomes
, meaning it can repair and rewire damaged neural
circuits
. In Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, clinical trials report modest but real
cognitive improvements, which implies enhanced synaptic function even in aging,
diseased brains .
Animal studies go further: it boosts hippocampal survival, reduces
oxidative stress, and increases synaptic density, all of which line
up with better memory and learning capacity.

When people bring up safety concerns with Cerebrolysin, the reality is that
it’s one of the cleaner compounds out there. Across dozens of clinical
trials in stroke, TBI, and dementia, adverse events were comparable to
placebo, usually just mild dizziness, headaches, or injection-site reactions.
Meta-analyses confirm that it does not increase serious adverse events, even
when used for weeks in vulnerable elderly patients. The one real risk is
hypersensitivity, with rare case reports of anaphylaxis, but these are
extremely uncommon given the thousands of patients treated.
Epilepsy and severe renal failure are listed as contraindications, which

makes sense since neurotrophic signaling can lower seizure threshold
and peptide clearance is reduced in kidney disease.

Importantly, trials in Alzheimer’s patients, who are some of the
most fragile subjects possible, still showed it was well tolerated for repeated
cycles. That means in a healthy brain with no comorbidities, the safety margin
is even better. Compare that to most “research chemicals” where long-term
toxicity is unknown Cerebrolysin already has decades of clinical use and
pharmacovigilance data. The takeaway is clear: aside from rare allergy events,
the risk profile is low, especially relative to the potential cognitive upside.

Let's play the safe card : do not make your own (seems obv but i'm serious :feelsshh:)

the data from mild cognitive impairment trials looks good imo. In these studies, daily
5–10 mL intramuscular injections for 20–30 days led to noticeable improvements in :

-Mental clarity,
-Memory,
and cognitive function in general.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9700674/

In conclusion, cerebrolysin could actually be a cheat code for IQ,
since its brain repairing, neuron connecting, and memory improving
properties could really make a difference in someone's day to day life.

is even better.
