The abstract literally says that they defined the 120–129 IQ group as high IQ. That's around the top 10%, excluding the top 2%. Obviously, people who are slightly above average are going to be happier than average. The real negative implications don't arise until you get much further from the mean. It's not even remotely comparable to someone in the 99.9th or, hell, even the 99th percentile in terms of IQ. People with an IQ of 120 are still normies; they'll relate to normies and largely think like normies. Their IQ will just help them live a more comfortable life.
