is 0.025 tret too little even with very dry sensitive skin

I have been using tret for ~ 4 weeks (27 days), and while more acne is appearing (I assume due to purging), my cystic acne is both getting worse but also painful to the touch and it’s even more disgusting than before (covered in white shit exiting the middle of it). I have heard that the purging phase should last ~6 weeks, but i’ve also seen a few posts mentioning that low concentration tret is just to get your skin used to it. Would it be beneficial to get a stronger prescription / order stronger tret, or wait for the purging to end before any advancements?

sorry if this is well known information, but what is firm? are you referring to a treatment or something else skin related?

0.025% is the perfect dose. Don’t start with anything higher. You can move to 0.5% after 4 more weeks. The purging phase will end after 3 months of use btw.

3 MONTHS? thats crazy holy. right now im also on adapalene. so ill wait until going up concentration. thank you for the knowledge.

I used to have lots of bumps on my face and I got prescribed something called Duac and Tret it helped get rid of my bumps in like 2-3 weeks completely it just irritated my skin I’m just left with red spots now but I’m on azelic acid and tret for that

duac and tret? alr got prescribed trey but will look into duac. ty for the input
