unless you shoot it heroin is the exact same drug because it's metabolized into morphine in the liver. if you shoot it, it bypasses in the liver which does cause a greater rush because you get more drug into your brain more quickly than if you were to inject morphine because morphine wont cross the blood brain barrier until it's metabolized by the liver, unlike heroin. in fact, that is what makes heroin heroin. it's literally morphine with acetyl groups attached which act as like a VIP pass into the brain. but once it's in the brain it becomes morphine again before interacting with it.
