With a short ramus and a high gonial angle of 139 degrees one should end up with downward growth like this -
0237A1DE 2E6B 4B52 8644 DC175DCAC491

But Barrett has a lot of forward growth, a lot of people on this forum say about him having a recessed chin and that isn’t true, only because of his large labiomental fold his chin looks recessed and making people think that he isn’t as forward grown. Is his forward growth because of his mandible being parallel to his imaginary mid-philtrum line?

Ramus length is genetic, even Mike Mew himself said that. it is just that whoever has a larger gonial angle thus has a smaller ramus or his ramus is slopped inward so it is not so visible.

Gosling definitely has more degrees of gonial angle. In addition Barrets chin is not recessed only is in the back because his mouth area / lower maxilla has larger protraction.

But isn’t a high gonial angle too an indicator of downward growth?

yes, but it has no direct connection to the length of ramus. In the sense, I will now use calibre to measure the gonial angle so that my ramus is equal to this length or that length“

obviously the less donward growth you are the more your ramus is visible

The forward growth of the lower maxilla is a femine trait to some extent, such as a bigger chin in the saggital position or protraction of it in a man.
