Is bimax really that overrated?

Obviously not if you have a subhuman over or under bite, but what if you’re just mildly recessed with no forward growth, and plan to have other surgery’s as well? I feel like it’s still addressing a problem that needs to be fixed right?

The forward growth you are missing is missing from the entire face like forehead supras nasal bridge radix cheekbones etc not just the jaws. So if your goal is to do surgery and get a psl approved side profile it won’t happen

Majority of people have a malloclusion otherwise they would have good forward growth

Its overrated because people who either have completely normal positions of the jaw or are recessed by like 3mm think it is some sort of magic HTN button. I've seen people with completely normal orthognathic profiles where their chin aligns perfectly with their nasion think that they will "ascend" via bimax. Basically just people looking at the top 1% of results and assuming it's some ticket into being good looking

Exactly bro, and that’s my scenario right now probably recessed around 3-6mm but I do have a bit of asymmetry and want to widen my smile, I want to go for as perfect of a result from hardmaxxing as I can because I’m going to be getting canthoplasty, infra-zygo, and fat grafting in the same procedure I’m just debating only getting genio instead of Trimax

For me specifically idgaf about cost or recovery, all I care about is trying to get as perfect of a result from my hardmaxxes as I can, I’d say I’m probably recessed by just 3-6mm my forward growth is neutral I just have a bit of asymmetry and want to widen my smile with a segmental lefort as well, I’m on the fence right now though im considering just getting genio with all the other surgery’s I’m getting at the same time Infra-zygo implants, canthoplasty, fat grafting and possible jaw implants, what’s your thoughts genio or Trimax?
