Basically title. I've been lifting weights and running for 4-5 years and have a physique I'm pretty happy with, but I feel like rounding out my training with some boxing sessions a few times a week might be a good idea.

What gave me this idea was, I think the "aura" of boxing is pretty sweet. All of the cool training, hitting bags, head movement, combos, building all of the skills that make you threatening in a real-life fight... Plus its obviously good cardio and looks super fun as well.

In terms of value is it basically just a "if you enjoy it then do it for cardio" situation or is it something greater, to the point where getting good at it would lead to a major increase in SMV?

Anyone with experience in boxing/combat sports feel free to chime in, thanks

probably wouldn't give any smv boost unless you become a well known amature fighter in your city, learning it as self defence is always worth it tho

you get a halo if you mention that you do martial arts

That's what I was thinking. Even mentioning it and having some videos to show will boost perceived status I think

Yes. You should it. I'm currently Boxing at my gym. But it's a highly skilled coaching gym though. Muay Thai is better however.

I'm aware and cautious of the risks of head injury. Was thinking its possible to mostly mitigate it by not sparring super hard.

wait till u realize amateur training aint shit like gervonta workouts or ryan garcia vids on ig. boxing got my smv to negative , bitches thought im dumbass when i used to box

Why? Did it actually make a bad impression?

you likely won't become good at it, competition lvel wise, with softball sparring.

for dudes lacking confidence, being anxious, etc.. I would advice to do martial arts/boxing.

sounds cool. feels cool. only takes 3-6 months to get good enough to run thru NPCs / twice ur size

In irl tho no real application or smv boost, fullblown fights almost never happen, never gonna 'use' it around hotties like in 'Never back down' movies 😂 with ur newfound edge ur probably more likely to start streetfights that wouldn't have started, going to jail. better off being reborn as a skinny non-cte havin ass prettyboy

I do it because it rounds out the shoulders and some days I just feel like punching stuff or distracting myself

While it may give you some halo, a looksmin long-term. Broken nose and damage soft tissues, getting roitinely hit in head isn't joke for a brain and eyes also.

Been boxing for 3 years, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, gets you in great shape and teaches you discipline and to be humbled

That should be fine, I'm not really imagining myself getting to the level of beating people who have a serious penchant for training boxing, but rather just to be able to know I can throw punches if need be and be able to look good hitting a bag and training.

I'm not even imagining beating people up as the mechanism by which boxing would boost SMV, but rather the aura of the training and the knowledge that I have the skills to have a leg up over almost anyone if they try to cause trouble with me. I feel it would add some confidence to those nights out where there's loads of drunk guys walking around causing trouble and acting hard.

I personally enjoyed my journey into martial arts. Although painfull also. It was good for me, to do.

I think it depends, alot on personality also. If it benefits one.
If one is now meek, very doubtfull and to fearful of any physical confrontation, etc.. than doing martial arts, can help one with that a bit.
If a person is very confrontational and so on already now, than doing martial arts will probably do less positive things mentally or personality wise

Do kickboxing. Fighting is necessary because it gives you better chances of protecting your looks if they're in danger.
Imagine you can't fight and someone bashes your face in until it's permanently disfigured = over immediate roping. If you can fight you are more likely to prevent this. Ofc always stay out of fights as you risk permanent looksmins

been doing mma for 7 years don't do it unless u actually want a career in fighting no point in training how to fight unless ur gonna fight..? the fucking cardio aspect of it is the same as anything else, like running, walking, biking, etc.
