"Yea it doesn't exist irl man" And literally EVERY single fucking family gathering/event triggers a full blown BP episode for me.
Forget about the daily torture of being unattractive. People just get used to sub-5s after excessive exposure and usually have their own shit to deal with so they just don't bother saying it out loud.
But boy oh boy them family gatherings are where the BP hits every fiber of my soul.
"Haha he's so short."
"Damn why do you smile like that? It looks creepy."
"You look attractive with your mouth closed for some reason (Not to be rude)."
*Face grabbed and squeezed* "You had some nutritional deficiencies growing up haha, your face looks so small."
I kid you not, these were the exact words of those people.
This subconscious bias is present in every single human being who's raised in the modern world.
BP as a concept only feels "Superficial" irl to most normies because most normies are not unattractive people themselves, just average, so most societal treatment is indifferent at large for them.
However, to the person who's perceived and described as an "ugly" sight to look at, is the only one who really knows how humiliating the experience truly is.
Normies (doesn't matter man, woman, child) people in general just treat you like shit. They keep making you feel conscious about your flaws, make you feel insecure about your body, your identity and then have the audacity to call you "Insecure" for standing up for yourself or hell even sharing your experiences out loud for once.
The extent of bullying ND and or unattractive people face in society on a daily basis is genuinely immeasurable.
Being aware of the BP at the very least helps you understand why people have a tendency to perceive and treat certain things and people the way they do (and also why you're being treated like a subhuman so you can either ascend enough to be treated like a normal person and or develop some coping mechanisms to deal with the brutality and move on with life).
