It makes sense when people/sbl say bulking is cope and not needed but every guy who bulks for a while, looks fat, then cut down always look insane and get very shredded in a fairly short amount of time. So is bulking actually cope or does it still work when done properly?

anything more than a lean bulk of >500calories above maint is.

Bulking is cope, its just an excuse to become fat and eat a lot. You can gain muscle by simply going on a slight calorie surplus. You don't need to gain 50 pounds and then lose 50 pounds to see muscle gain. And not only that cutting from a bulk can cause muscle loss which means you lost the progress you tried to put on.

slightly above maintenance is optimal, above a 500cal surplus is cope

All the influencers that become big while staying shredded are on gear. They lie about it because they're selling the dream and often are literally selling courses and supplements (which nobody would buy if they could make any progress, but they can't because they take advice from such influencers. It's a trap).
500calories

300 calories
That's a bulk, but calories are nonsense anyway.

just an excuse to become fat and eat a lo
Dirty bulk fallacy.

according to science it is cope
Exercise soyence is a joke of this earth. They say people can gain muscle doing X because they test it on people who've never trained (and those people can gain doing anything).

Not cope. Ideally and theoretically you don't need to bulk to maximise muscle gain but most people are not that disciplined. A 300-400 calorie bulk for an extended period of time in the first few years of lifting will see you gain tons of muscle while still allowing you to stuff your fat face with KFC every now and then. SBLs are all faggots and most people will not eat perfectly to facilitate their suggestion to not bulk

Not technically. What people mean when they say that is an excessive surplus, which does nothing to build additional muscle and only serves to put on extra fat. Eating a few hundred above maintenance with some GH is as good as it gets.

Why would you assume he takes gear, seems like an important aspect to leave out if he was. Naturally bulking is not cope just do it over periods such as winter where you wont need to be as lean and can sacrifice your looks slightly for a few months to look way bigger when you cut down.
Also influencers who are 8% bf can bulk up for a few months to 12/13% and still look lean even though they have been in a surplus for 2+ months. Thats why a lot look so lean year round. obv steroids and huge side are the main help but still this is the reason some natty ones can do the same.

lean bulk instead

When you bulk you’re gaining both fat and muscle. Afterwards you cut to lose the fat.

The result will be you having more muscle put onto your original leanness which’ll make you look more dope
