Is bulking really necessary? Wouldn't it be possible to maintain a body fat percentage of 8-10% while gaining mass, alternating between a maintenance diet and a caloric deficit? Especially with the use of steroids.

yes thats what im doing, blast SARMs bhai:LOL:

just be in a slight surplus

Your body can synthesise skeletal muscle in an energy deficit if you are above 15 percent body fat.

Under 15 percent body fat, your body will struggle to synthesise additional skeletal muscle mass because it will not have many reserves to pull energy from. You might gain grams of muscle per month at this point, and it will not be noticeable.

Energy surplus is a tried and tested and effective method to gain significant and noticeable additional skeletal muscle. It is the only way at low body fat percentages.

Cut down to 8 percent body fat, and follow a 200 up to 300 kilocalorie surplus over maintenance after.

This answers your question. Like and mark as solution.

My issue is that I hate the puffy, fat look on my face from bulking, and even with steroids I still wouldn't see any benefits if I just stayed on a maintenance diet?
