Whenever I walk past the girls I like and have been talking to, they make awkward eye contact, give a quick smile, and look away while with their friends. It doesn’t happen with other girls — just the ones I actually like — and it hits me hard every time. My chest tightens and I get shaky. I also don’t really have the courage to talk to them after school or try to meet up, even though my friends keep saying they actually like me (both my ex talking stage and the new one).
