I feel like comptuter science is just the business major of stem. Like niggas really go in and get the degree cause someone on tiktok said it's the fastest way to get rich.

Their market is crazy oversaturated. People like to say there's is a demand for them, but everyone in their sector is getting laid off with the quickness. Althought there is a demand for senior roles, that soon would get flooded when the gen grows up.

I know people with execptional grades and they struggle trying to break into the industry. A lot of them break into the industry from start ups, will are apparently always garenteed to fail, so stablity is non existent

You can't just go to university expecting to get rich, but you will def be in the top earners for wagies.

I think so too. Something like computer science can be learned without a degree aswell and most places where you could use that degree for a job would also hire you if you have experience within the field with projects and stuff .

With all this supply, demand is bound to go down, even if automation is takes over all. I don't see SWEsmaking 100k like they used to, it's just gonna become a glorifed business degree.

Yes, it is. Waste of time. There's plenty of curries that will do your job 20 times more efficient for half the salary.

People are starting their professional careers with just a couple months in bootcamp. With your job becoming remote, you now compete with pretty much anyone with wifi and a laptop, and that included the indians willing to work McDonald Wage

My respect for Indians has sky-rocketed because they can code and I can't code at all. :feelsrope:

Anyone can be a codemonkey. You just need to familiarise yourself with the language. Bottom line is that STEM = waste of money unless you're from muttland

Coding seems difficult for me, maybe I'm just that low IQ. Kids in my class are IQmogging me when I can't write more than one simple line of code.

Idk, I'm 68IQ and managed to get a scholarship in a STEM (lowest IQ course) but then again, fourth world education is 20 times worse than in muttland.

If you have an average IQ forget all dreams of working with FAANG. CS is now filled with high IQ chinks and curries who've been coding Python since they were 8. Good luck jfl

You're underestimating yourself probably. I score 100 on IQ tests.

Not at all. Coding itself is ez but the creativity part is comepletely genetic. There's plenty of currycel tutorials that can aid you though.

I will give it some time. After all I just started this week with it. :p

Seriously? Just 100? A real IQ test or one of the online Mensa ones

Just a few online tests. One said 99, other one said 100, another 101. So I just say 100 as that's literally the average. I know IQ is basically cope and it's about understanding concepts.

Depends on your speciality. I mainly won't need it but it was mandatory anyway. Worked with muh C++, Python, Pascal and SQLite (main shit). Somehow managed to go through and complete my assigments. Basically, if your speciality is about "designing" more than "slaving", it won't be hard. Pajeets that choose CS programming courses focus on the "slaving" aspect the most.

You're not a muzzie because you're a murtad. Mogged by murtadcel.

Yeah we are working with Python right now. I can only do this -> print("Hello world!")

JFL at me. Meanwhile kids from my class can write a fake code (homework) whereas I don't.

Luckily for me, I don't need to attend or pass the class but I want to because I think it's good to learn whatever subjects we are being taught. That's my two cents.

Job market is to competitive. They want a degree + connections + portfolio. ALL 3

If you're not going to use it constantly, you'll forget everything. There has to be intrinsic motivation. For me, python was fun because I created muh scripts for vidya (Pygame). As for assigment, I had to create a virtual shop module with python. Curry tutorials helped me a lot.

You do realize 68 iq is genuine mental retardation right? No way anyone here is that low except maybe mvp

Everything is cope. AI takes over in 10 years

No.
Business degrees and similar mumbo jumbo imaginary "sciences" are overrateed.
Computer science is hard, actual science therefore not overrated at all.
But people into it are often nerds though.

Ain’t the hardest thing on cs calc 3?

This isn't that true to reality. I definitely see where you're coming from, but money hungry people tend to pic other majors. Business if they're dumb or lazy, or law and medicine if they are willing to put in the work.

This honestly isn't true at all. You're average programmer doesn't know much about programming at all. They haven't studied computer science or mathematics at an advanced level. Know 1-3 languages at most, don't bother with certs or other qualifications, and see nothing wrong with this.
I know people with execptional grades and they struggle trying to break into the industry. A lot of them break into the industry from start ups, will are apparently always garenteed to fail, so stablity is non existent
They try to break in through start ups. That's the issue, if they decided to work for already established companies they wouldn't have an issue finding a job and getting paid.

Computer science can really not be learned without a degree. It's not like Psychology or Business unless you're genius tier IQ.

Do you think the Indians are making a decent living? They're being worked to the bone in the modern day equivalent of a cloth factory. It's the people who design stuff in Europe and America who pocket the difference. One of my dad's biggest regrets was not going to university to study computer science. He earns quite a bit now but he would be making double that amount of money if he did.

Chinks and curries can't code for shit lol. Not unless they grew up in the west. Jfl at thinking your average Indian programmer learned python since they were 8.

IQ is a meme lol. I knew someone who spoke German, Italian and English all fluently. Knows really advanced pure mathematics and computer science. Who had to do some IQ test when he went to some shrink and got 70 on the dot. Maybe it's just a computer scientist thing idk.

Pretty much, computer science is up there when it comes to people's lists of hardest degrees. If you haven't studied math especially calculus and vectors during high school. (Or college if you're in the UK.) And aren't semi fluent in one or two back end languages don't bother learning CS yet.

Also, if you're just in it for the money. You'll drop out halfway through. You need to make sure you have some kind of interest in it.

Smells like cope tbh, there are literally bootcampers who are junior or senior SWE, while a bunch of grads are struggling to get entry level roles.

One of my best friends has a first class in cs and cannot find a job. He finished his a levels in 1 year, then did a btec CS and finished in a year too. He’s got dozen projects and is always volunteering. The start ups he’s at literally always fizzle before the 2 month mark. Ive seen how hard he works and that shit is STRESS.

I've already addressed this. He works at startups instead of established companies. My dad who didn't get a degree and is earning six figures didn't join some no name startup.

Your dad is a super senior, he’s a graduate. You’re blocked

Definitely oversaturated
