Is downwards growth more common in males or females?

I seem to notice far more males that are down grown compared to females

Males for sure

women don't tend to have enough bone in their skulls to look significantly down-grown.

That’s what I was thinking, makes sense
they do tend to have a short ramus though, but then again you also don't see really long ones that often on men either, at least not as long as mine.

Men's maxillas naturallly grow downwards a lot more so there is more chance for vertical excess.

Would it be reasonable to say downwards growth is an unattractive dimorphic trait?

So it’s the jaw following the maxilla and not the other way around?

Downward growth as in unnatural elongation is equally common but women have naturally shorter faces.
At what point is it unnatural? Is it determined by the gonial angle?

Thoughts on this @Arborist ?
correct if you're talking about the ramus, but that doesn't mean your jaw should be flat.

notice the ramus is close to a 90 degree angle on this guy, but his jaw still lowers past that.

Can you explain further? 90 degree to what, his lower mandible or to the floor?

This shows the angle is about 30 degrees from 90, I’m confused?

his jaw doesn't slope until after the ramus, down-grown people slope at the ramus, and lack depth, i.e their jaw slope starts at the ear.

Very interesting, thoughts @Dr. Bruh do you agree?

hacker is a classical example of downgrowth, no ramus depth with the angle starting near his ear, and his jaw lowers right at the angle rather than beyond that, which compromises the structural integrity of the jaw.

No it's cope. His ramus angle isn't even 90° and he is downgrown. It's also impossible to have 90° ramus angle without 90° gonial angle otherwise your tmj would be displaced.

This is 90° gonial angle.

your example is downgrown by that definition.

By what definition?
both of these have similar jaw structure, different angle, the jaw drops past the ramus, which is close to a 90 degree angle.

down-growth is determined at the ramus, not past it.

No they have completely different gonial angles.

Put it in frankfurt plane jfl.
It's just to show that he mogs, I didn't mean he's recessed if that's what you understood it.

wrong.

you're looking at the position of the hyoid bone which has nothing to do with down-growth.

Am I downgrown?

shit pic btw @Arborist @Dr. Bruh

@colesp can you please explain why you think females are more downgrown bud?

@Dr. Bruh Who do you think this is?

Ok tell me what is the first guys gonial angle and the second guys. (If you even know what it means).
?

both are near 90~ their jaw doesn't lower until past the ramus, you are posting guys with flat hyoids rather than flat jaws.
