Is going to a derm a good option to find out i am balding or not?

I am exactly the same lol, my grandad is 70+ NW0 (obviously its not as thick and full but the hairline is there). Yeah it's primarily X linked, so if you have your mother's father's x chromosome you are almost certainly ok, however it's 50/50 if you do. Then there are other genes that you can get from either but they are far less viscous and important from other genes. my mums dad has full hair so that's 50%, then my mums mums dad has full hair so I have at least a 75% chance of not balding from the X linked shit. However I honestly believe the maxilla might be to blame for a lot of the balding we see anyway

@larsanova69 Mother's father is the best indicator since the primary genes for it are on the x chromosome, of course, that means your mother's mother's father is also another indicator, and so on and so one until it becomes so unlikely that you have the chromosome with balding, etc. There are also other genes on separate chromosomes you could inherit but they are much less important.
dont feed him that bs. There is no balding gene. Male pattern baldness is polygenic and not some retarded gene that your maternal grandfather carries.

not my theory, I've seen it mentioned on one thread hear and a website else where.
it's lose and just a thought but its probs something like improper formation of the glabella so the dht clogs the poures

It's primarily on the X chromosome but not exclusively, like I said pretty much word for word

my grandfather is like a 90 years old man who doesn't function anymore but still has full hair jfl

but there is no balding gene that is responsible for hairloss. Its just a mechanical issue in the galea. You might have seen the thread i already made https://looksmax.org/threads/your-headshape-is-the-real-cause-of-baldness.227422/ .
I know there’s no one balding gene nigga, and yeah I know It’s probably glabrlla linked like in the site I linked. But as far as I can tell the reason it’s both glbella and obviously dht linked as scientifically proven is that it’s the accumulation of dht in the glabella. So that gives you two options, either have such a tiny amount of dht receptors in the glabella that you don’t get effected(genetic) or have a really well shaped one (maxilla, environmental)

theres no balding genes at all. I didnt say it was just one. Ive seen people say the most bs stuff on this site. Like the reason most women dont go bald is because they only inherit one balding gene and if they get the gene on both x chromosomes they will bald. Its purely the shape of the galea/neurocranium. Larsanova has showed me his galea before and it looks good which is why i said im certain he wont go bald.

View attachment 812201always got some reccesion at 15 so maybe it is Just my normal hairline
I haven't been to many docs but I have heard people having their concerns disregarded.

Your hairline seems to present some hair miniaturation in the last pic. I would consider tricho test/ check or scalp biopsy.

There is definitely a genetic and hormonal link, I think you are just hyped up on the pattern you have noticed tbh and have tunnel vision. I mean just look it up lol, it’s proven it’s the dht that causes the shrinking of the follicles, so your androgen receptors in the hairs matter most, this isn’t really debatable imo unless you can find some flaws in these studies. However the link to the glabella comes in that if you can make sure you don’t have this accumulation of dht I.e by having it formed properly you can avoid it regardless of androgen receptors. This is pretty consistent with the fact scalp massages work and so does increased blood flow. I don’t understand how you could deny the dht link regardless of studies when a. Women don’t go bald regardless of shape, b. Finasteride works

I think poorly shaped galeas contribute to too much scalp dht. Ive read somewhere that balding men have higher levels of scalp dht than non balding men. Poorly shaped galeas cause scalp tension and dht is sent as an anti inflamatory response. In my thread i did say androgens caused the follicles to shrink but they were not the main cause of hairloss. Some women have significantly thinner hair in the temples and show a norwood pattern if the thin hair areas were slick bald. They have low dht levels so most wont go bald.

Yeah I agree, but if dht is being sent there, or accumulating, and you have little androgen receptors there (which is almost certainly genetic and then almost certainly x-linked), then there's a genetic basis as well so that's why the mother's father thing really does matter

I dont really think the mother's father thing is important at all. Both my grandfathers have a full head of hair (obviously thinner due to old age) yet one of my cousins is balding despite sharing the same maternal grandfather as me. I think all of it is dialed down to headshape. I think the genetic part of it and androgen receptors just dictates how slow or fast youll bald.
