Like can i only have one or the other at a time?

Obv bulk then cut is an option but at a low bodyfat percent is gaining muscle impossible?

Can you only prioritize one at a time?

This are the basics buddy - when you're just starting out it's possible to make newbie gains & lose fat at the same time, but the growth will not be optimal (only when on slight surplus+).

Im trying to do this at the very moment tho, returned to gym after years eating chicken breast & all that "jazz" / losing weight trying to preserve at least

So slight surplus or maintenance at the very least?
 
Muscle needs calories to grow, if you arent getting enough they wont
why do you think your body burns fat, for no reason? it burns fat for energy

lil offtopic sorry: Is a slight dose of TRT considered natty? :lul: My doc could get me from my pretty low T (550) to 1000-1100 - controlled - to just a natty highest possible T level) should I do et, for libido & "drive to life"? or don't bother?

If you’re a noob then you can recomp.

Bulk cut is the only way to go past a year of lifting though. Keep protein/fat the same, vary carbs.

I spoke to the doc, and he's not some 'Mumbai' one, expensive guy tbh, he told me that we can stop anytime, that it's a mythology that you MUST TAKE IT because your natural production shuts down and shit, I want to check how I will feel if it would be life changing and lift mood/libido/give me a kick so to speak, then will stabilize and take it for prolonged time hmm

Your mistake, as long as your deficit doesn't exceed 600kcal you can build muscle. What gives you muscle is training, bad stimulus = poor use of calories/proteins
Bulk is not necessary, maximum 200kcal if u want to do this.

If youre new to lifting, you can absolutely do both, and some people even if they arent new. Youve seen jacked athletes before who havent heard of a bulk or cut in their life. They just do lots of cardio, and lift /workout for their sport. If youre not new, you probably still can be conventional wisdom says its slower. Id say just bulk for a year man, if youre unhappy with the bodyfat, being a bit fluffy for a year wont be that big of deal cause after wards you will have mad muscle to look forward to when you cut. Just deal with it and afterwards you cut. If you do it right you can build 20lbs+ of muscle.

Going full heavy bulk does have benefits if u dont care looking worse while doing it. I advice going one big bulk, for like 3 months, lift heavy, after that never do bulks ever in life and be sligthly above maintanance.

Yeah, I mostly eat protein sources, and vegetables. Instead of rice I eat lentils, bulgur or quinoa. they have good amount of protein with carbs

Just buy 3-4 canned tunas and u will get like 150-200 grams of protein, while not spending time cooking, plus its easy to eat fast

You cannot spot reduce fat so losing face fat includes losing fat everywhere. Also no it is NOT, especially beginners can build a lot of muscle while in a caloric deficit, but for more advanced lifters they will only build a bit of muscle on a deficit.

Only way your loosing face fat is if you caloric deficit so no it’s not possible unless you want to train in a deficit
