what about only getting fat grafts, would that achieve the same result as infras?

no lol, depends what u need, if u need bone u get implant since it's under everything, if u only need fat u get fat, if u need both u get both

Depends on what your issue actually is

Recessed Infras need implants and maybe grafts.
Tear trough because of volume loss needs grafts.
Tear trough because of baby fat loss needs low BF%
Eyebags need Bleph.
Overprojected Infras in relation to lower maxilla need LF1.

All of these can cause tear trough or undereye hollowing.

How foes overprojected infras cause teartough?

Due to the relationship between Infras and lower maxilla. Essentially the soft tissue in the midface is supported by the structure of the lower maxilla and the muscles that attach to it, like the zygomaticus major and minor, the fat below and above them and obviously the bone itself.

These structures creating a high enough positive angle is extremely important to provide adequate soft tissue support. If you don't have that support you get early descend of the malar fat pad, because the linfra ligament has to do too much work keeping the soft tissue elevated. And once that ligament stretches you get tear trough
