Is it actual possible to measure someone's potential

for whatever reason people love to ask for their potential. I dont think its possible but i wanted to get a second opinion.

If your fat i cant make out your features, if your skinny i wont know what you'll like when you whatever .

the only i can make out potential is if someone has like a really good feature. IDK am i wrong ?

I think you can but in the more literal sense of the word. A fat person has the potential to look better simply by losing weight. However, them losing weight won't guarantee that they will look good; it only means that they'll (probably) look better than before.
