Is it normal for friends to call eachother ugly?

Im with my buddies at school and suddenly i get called ugly for no reason.Its like they all attack one person in the group at once,we are all victims but i feel they have a little bit more fun making fun of me
I try not to react because it doesnt really affect me when someone who’s not educated in this stuff comments on looks and such but today was different,it took a toll on me
This only happens between my friends and other boys from school,i never got a comment on my looks in a bad way from a girl
I just need to know if this is normal behaviour between friends and if i should mind it or not

lazy to read all of it but im sure its normal to say to your friend hes ugly asf if he really is

For any type of insults or jokes it relies on the trust that the friends have built up and their actual beliefs on your features. Personally if I joked and called a friend ugly but saw that they took it to heart then I’d stop and remind them I’m just joking and pull back a bit. If you are expressing that feeling and they’re not pulling back then they probably respect you less than you think.

Doesn’t mean you have to immediately cut all ties, you can either talk to them 1 on 1, ask them point blank after they joke like “do you really think im ugly”, or best insult them back playfully and see if everybody else comes to their defense to clown you more. Their reactions to all of these will show you how much they value you. Some friends just clown more often, some friends use jokes as a way to put others down.

I don’t think they’d call you ugly if you were actually ugly.
I’m ugly but nobody calls me ugly cause they know it would cut too deep I guess.
