Is it possible to do a BSSO with widening but without forward/backward movement?

I was wondering if this was possible. In my mind, this would have a similar aesthetic outcome to jaw angle implants but while using only a segmental osteotomy
 
Are you retarded? The widening happens bc the mandible is pushed forward. The wider part comes forward simultaneously also widening the mandible.

why though? because the cut pushes out the ramus area of the mandible when extending forward? if that is the case could you manually rotate or push the ramus/gonion area manually with the cut?
