I had a consultation with a surgeon and he said i could get a maximum of 1-3mm forward advancement and 4mm vertical downgrafting unless i wanna be dogmaxxed. No ccw rotation.

Is it even worth getting it at that point? it looks like most of the aesthetic improvement is coming from genioplasty. My concern is whether i want to spend a year in braces, pay a shit ton of money, go through a long recovery, develop functional problems and still look the same at the end.

I have sfs and i routinely hear that sfs see the most aesthetic gain from bimax. So i suppose my question is: is the 4mm of downgrafting going to be the main driver of aesthetic improvement?

Yes. I'm in the same boat as you. Every mm counts

4mm down grafting is visually significant

pm me your pics, i had bimax done

imo though i would say no unless you have health issues requiring it, 3mm is so small though it's not really worth, maybe if your sfs is disgusting tier then getting it cosmetically could ascend you

I can't conclude or advise you on anything without seeing.

@geenk worg @DonaldJTrump @flatcheck213 @HorseMan7 @Seong Gi-Hun here’s some morphs. One is genio only and the other is trimax with downgrafting.

From just this alone i think it looks like genio is making the biggest difference and id imagine filler in top lip can probably provide that support for the upper lip that advancing the maxilla is providing.

Would you say it’s likely to improve the front as well?
yes

the trimax plan that is

downgraft is essential for you and a small one makes a huge difference

short and long faces will most likely change after downgrafting/rotation
is 4mm down significant enough for those changes? Im thinking that i should attempt to push the downgrafting to 6mm. The surgeon said that there is a risk of getting gummy smile and it’s difficult to determine how much it will be. I’ve measured how much of my upper incissor is hidden when smiling and it seems to be about 7-8mm. The surgeon said the forward movement will also improve tooth show.

If it’s really bad short Face I would just get as much downgraftint as u can

I can’t image u ending up with a horse gummy smile after and if u do have a little too much gum show get gum shaving

For the downgraft, yes if you have SFS.
Sagittal advancement of 3mm in and of itself won’t do much.
