It isn't cope. I've experienced it myself and it's a well-known side effect of PGF2α analogues. It often happens to glaucoma patients using bimatoprost eye drops:

It can also make your iris darker. Keep in mind though that the cases described were about glaucoma patients who used bimatoprost as eye drops directly, not eyelash serum. It would still have an effect but not as severe as eye drops. Also, it’s not permanent. These effects slowly subside when you stop using it
