When we went long distance, it lasted a year. Overall, it was a two year relationship. I didn't have hesitation to go into it because we did love each other and we had plans of living together eventually, but alas it didn't work out.

The only (good) reason to have one is to be able to travel and get rent-free vacations there. Or to get a sugar mommy if she's rich. Get visa/passport too if you come from a shitskin country.
Everything else is bullshit and 98% of long distance (different country) relationships don't last because one of the two cannot move, or once they move, they realize they are too different.
